Dear Sinai Temple Religious School Families,

Summer is winding down and it is time to register for the 2024-2025 Sinai Temple Religious School year! Sinai Temple Religious School offers engaging classes, worship services and social programs for Jewish families in and around Champaign-Urbana. We are thrilled that your family will be a part of our school this year!

If you are new to the community or to Sinai Temple Religious School or have specific questions that are not answered on the Sinai Temple website, please reach out to Rabbi Jody Cook, Director of Education. You can email Rabbi Jody at educator@sinaitemplecu.org.

All families are asked to register for religious school using ShulCloud.  This should help the registration process as well as allow users to make payments on a personalized schedule.  All payments for religious school are due by June 15, 2025.  We appreciate your commitment to our program.  If you have an outstanding balance from the 2023-2024 school year, we kindly ask that you fulfill your financial obligation before completing the registration form for this school year.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Rabbi Jody (educator@sinaitemplecu.org).

חֲזַ֤ק חֲזַ֤ק וְנִתְחַזַּק֙

May you go from strength to strength,

Please register online.  If you need assistance, please contact Rabbi Jody. Please complete your registration forms by September 1, 2024 in order for your children to attend the first session on Sunday, September 15.  If your forms are completed after September 1, we ask that you give us time to process the information and that you wait to come to class until you have received a confirmation email from Rabbi Jody that your form has been received.

Below, you will find information about the various classes in our school.  As a small school, we will combine classes if needed.  This year, Yad b'Yad (Hand in Hand) will be open to children who are born March 1, 2023 or later (turning 18 months-3 years old by September, 2024).

If you are interested in membership, please reach out to Gary Bernstein (stoffice@sinaitemplecu.org). Families who are not Sinai Temple members will be assessed an additional fee (equal to a fee paid by member families) to help offset building usage and security.

Section C: Non-Member Fee, Scholarship & Release Forms

We encourage you to join Sinai Temple and to be part of our broader congregational community.  We understand that this is not feasible for all of the families enrolling in Sinai Temple Religious School.  Non-Members are assessed a building usage fee (equal to the member fee that is assessed) in order to help with the upkeep of the physical building.  This fee is $150.  Non-Members are also assessed a security fee (equal to the member fee that is assessed) in order to help with the cost of security.  This fee is $120 per family. The total assessment for non-members is $270 per year per family.
Sinai Temple is committed to providing Jewish education for our families. We are grateful to our community and to CUJF for helping us provide tuition waivers to those who need assistance. If you need assistance, please complete the information below.  Historically, tuition waivers have ranged from 10% to 50% of the tuition fee.  We will do our best to meet the needs of all families requesting assistance.

Please note:  There is a separate scholarship fund for B'nai Mitzvah fees.  This scholarship is only available to Sinai Temple members and families need to be members in good standing in order to celebrate a life cycle event at Sinai Temple.  These funds will be used to cover B'nai Mitzvah fees (up to $750 of the tuition fee).
Please provide detailed information about your financial situation and your need for financial assistance.  Please include the following information in your response, as well as any other information you think is relevant.
